📊 This classic study shows improvements in cycling economy in well-trained cyclists after adding 8-weeks of heavy squats to their regular endurance training.
🏋️♀️ Combining endurance and strength training does not seem to reduce maximal oxygen uptake when compared to endurance-only training. Interestingly, strength is reduced with concurrent training compared to strength-only training.
🏋️♀️ Something to keep in mind for mixed sport athletes such as most team sports and CrossFit®.
