During ageing, people lose muscle and replace with fat

🥩During regular ageing in the absence of chronic disease and exercise, muscle mass will be lost continuously and is gradually replaced by fat (called "sarcopenia").

📷What you see in the pictures are MRI pictures of the upper and lower legs of different women. White is adipose tissue (fat), dark is muscle.

💪🏼This effect is still true to a certain extent in lifelong exercisers, but it is much, much less pronounced.

🧓🏼Keep ya old folks active!
