🥛 Milk is an excellent drink for hydration.
🥤72 recreationally active males ingested 1L of the assigned test drinks (see above) in a 30-min time span. Urine was collected to calculate hydration index.
✅ Turned out that both skim milk and full fat milk were excellent beverages for hydration, together with ORS and, somewhat surprising, orange juice. The other drinks, including the sports drink Gatorate, did not hydrate better than plain water.
👍 As we mentioned before on this page. Milk, especially chocolate milk is an excellent recovery drink. It contains all essential amino acids, it has fast sugars to resynthesize glycogen and, as it turns out from this study, provides great rehydration.
